Shooters were then divided into three classes:
1) Issue Rifles – Any military service rifle issued to any nation and legally sold as surplus in the United States and in strictly as issued configuration. This class was divided in two between M1 Garands and Bolt Action Rifles.
2) Modified Iron – Same as above with the following modifications allowed; sporter stocks, trigger modifications and any iron sights. Glass bedding of the stock is also allowed.
3) Modified Scope – same as Modified Iron with the exception of scopes up to 6 power are allowed.
The match is shot at distances of 100 and 200 yards. Each shooter fired 20 rounds at 100 yards and 20 rounds at 200 yards were a maximum score possible of 400.

- Spotting Scope
- Front Rest
- Back Rest
- Pasters
- Ear & Eye Protection ( worth mentioning twice )
- Elbow pad
- Recoil pad and bucket or stool to sit on
- A small booklet to keep record of your shots and windage is also recommended.
