Hawkeye Rifle & Pistol Club Combat League

This league will be fired with .22 Revolvers & Pistols at a range of approximately 25 feet. This league will begin March 26, 2007 at 6:30 and run for 8 weeks. The cost of the league will be $10.00 or $15.00 if shooting two guns.

Handguns We will shoot this league with semi-automatic .22 pistols and .22 revolvers (revolvers can be either 6 shot or 10 shot). Iron sights, scopes, red dots or any other electronic sight is permitted. We will shoot the semi-autos through 3 times before starting the revolvers.

Course of Fire When it is your turn to shoot you will place your pistol (action open) and one clip loaded with 6 rounds on the starting table. A second clip loaded with a maximum of 10 rounds will be placed on the second table or carried on your person (shooters choice).

Revolvers will be placed on the table with the cylinder open but loaded with five or 10 rounds. For 6 shot revolvers, a reload of either 6 rounds will be placed on the second table. (Loaded manually, no speedloaders)

Shooter will then be seated at the starting line with his back to the range. When the timer goes off, shooter will pick up his gun, load and move to the first station. At the left window, shooter will fire 1 round at the first target (Station 1).

Moving to the next window, shooter will engage the bowling pins shooting the white bowling pins only, firing one shot at each (Station 2).

The next station will be the flipper targets. Shooter will re-load his pistol with the second clip and engage the 4 flipper targets (Station 3)..

After shooting this segment move to the third window and engage the two silhouette targets, firing one shot at each (Station 4).

Moving to the fourth window, shooter will shoot the stop target (Station 5). This will complete the course of fire. At that time, shooter should make the pistol safe, opening the action and removing the clip.

Shooter will then be responsible for helping re-set the range for the next competitor. Each evening we will shoot 3 rounds, throwing out the slowest time. The score for the night will be the average of the fastest two.

Penalties The following penalties will be accessed:

Station 1
2 second penalty for missing the kill zone 2 second penalty for shooting out of the wrong window

Station 2

2 second penalty for each white pin left standing 2 second penalty for each black pin knocked over

Station 3

2 second penalty for each missed target (target must go around at least half way to score a hit)

Station 4
2 second penalty for not hitting the kill zone 2 second penalty for shooting out of the wrong window

Station 5
2 second penalty for not hitting the target 2 second penalty for shooting out of the wrong window

Remember to save enough ammo to complete the entire course of fire. Without any misses, you will shoot 13 rounds.
There will be a 5 second penalty accessed for each station not completed.

If your gun jams, misfires, etc, you will need to clear the gun and continue the course.
If a competitor chooses not to complete the course the run will be recorded as a scratch.
In the event a competitor has two scratches in one night, a scratch score will be used which will be the cumulative average plus 10 seconds.

Other Rules: Eye and Ear protection is mandatory. You will not be allowed to shoot without it.
