All firearms will be empty with the slides back and magazines out or cylinders open except when instructed to load on the firing line. TIME: 6:30 P.M. Monday nights for 10 weeks COST: $10.00 for One gun or $15.00 for Two Guns SAFETY All shooters must wear eye and ear protection. All firearms will be empty with the slides back and magazines out or cylinders open except when instructed to load on the firing line. GUNS & SIGHTS This league is open to both rimfire and centerfire handguns. You can shoot one rimfire match and one centerfire match each night. You can shoot either revolvers or semi-automatics. Any sights, including telescopic, are permitted with the exception of those sights, which project an image on the target. Any sighting device programmed to activate the firing mechanism is prohibited. Handguns may be fired using either a two hand or one hand grip. Match Shooters will fire a total of 30 rounds at three different targets; Slow Fire, Timed Fire and Rapid Fire Targets. Slow Fire – Shooter’s will have ten minutes to fire ten rounds at the slow fire target. Timed Fire - Shooters will have a total of 40 seconds to fire 10 rounds at the timed fire target. This stage is broken into 2 five shot segments of 20 seconds each. Range Commands will be given for each segment. Rapid Fire – Shooters will be given a total of 20 seconds to fire 10 rounds at the rapid fire target. This stage will also be broken down into two 5 shot segments of 10 seconds each. Range commands will be given for each segment. Relays will be fired as either a rimfire relay or a centerfire relay. Rimfire relays will be fired first each night. ALIBIS If you have a jam or misfire, alibis will be permitted. In the case of an alibi, after the segment has been completed inform the range officer. At the conclusion of the two 5 shot segments, the alibis will be shot. Alibis will consist of 5 shots (even if your target is only missing one shot). Only the lowest 10 shots will be scored on the target. SCORING THE TARGETS Prior to shooting the relay, shooters will write their name and indicate which segment on each target. Each night the range officer shall designate an official scorer for both rimfire and centerfire. This individual will score all targets except his own. A shot hole, the leading edge of which comes in contact with the outside of the bullseye or scoring rings of a target, is given the highest value. As a general rule, only those hits which are visible will be scored. An exception will be made in the case where the grouping of 3 or more shots is so close that it is possible for a required shot or shots to have gone through the enlarged hole without leaving a mark and there has been no evidence that a shot or shots have gone elsewhere than through the assigned target. In such case, the shooters will be given the benefit of the doubt and scored hits for the nonvisible shots, on the assumption they passed through the enlarged hole. If such an assumption could place a nonvisible hit in either of 2 scoring rings, it shall be scored in the higher-valued ring. The range officer shall have the final authority if any scoring issues arise. Results will be posted by the following Monday night. CLASSIFICATIONS Shooters will be classified after the third week based on an average of their first three weeks. The classifications will be as follows: Rimfire: Centerfire: Master Master Expert Expert Sharpshooter Sharpshooter Marksman Marksman Make-Ups Make ups will be allowed every Monday night. All make ups will be fired at the conclusion of that weeks regular matches or as space is available. No make ups will be allowed after the last night of the league. |
